THIBODAUX, La. –
One of the longest road trips in program history will conclude this weekend when the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's soccer program heads to Nicholls at 4 p.m. Friday at the Nicholls Soccer Complex, and Southeastern at 1 p.m. Sunday at Strawberry Stadium.

It will be the fifth and sixth games of the road swing for the Islanders (4-9-2, 2-5-2 SLC), who are going over a month between home games.

"We've had a great week of practice and are ready and refreshed for another road trip," said head coach Craig Shaw.

In the team's last outing, A&M-Corpus Christi scored a pair of second half goals but fell just short 3-2 at McNeese. Senior Reaghan Lang and junior Samantha Palomino found the back of the net.

Palomino leads the team and ranks third in the conference with five goals on the year, while Lang has four. Also with goals on the year for the Islanders are sophomore Maggie Murray, sophomore Olivia Alvarez and freshman Megan Guy.

Sophomore Emma Herrera has logged a team-high 1,333 minutes on the year. She's one of four Islanders to start in all 15 games along with Palomino, junior Emma Gibbs and sophomore Reese Cross.

A&M-Corpus Christi is going for the season sweep over Nicholls (0-14, 0-9 SLC). In the first meeting, Alvarez broke the ice with a goal in the 65th minute, and Murray added an insurance tally in the 76th. The Islanders are unbeaten in their last four meetings against the Colonels.

A&M-Corpus Christi and SLU (5-7-2, 3-4-2 SLC) tied 1-1 in Corpus Christi. Guy scored in the 11th minute before the Lady Lions found an equalizer early in the second half. The Islanders held a 17-16 edge in shots and 10-7 in shots on goal.

The regular season finale is slated for Friday, Oct. 29 when A&M-Corpus Christi returns home to face UIW. The Islanders will also host the conference tournament on Nov. 3-7 at Dugan Stadium.
