Story Headlines
- The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi softball team fell in its final two games of its weekend series vs. Southeastern La. by scores of 9-6 and 2-1 Saturday afternoon at Chapman Field.
- The Islanders finished yesterday's second game after if was postponed due to darkness.
Game Two
- The Islanders grabbed a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st inning courtesy of an RBI single to bring
Tiare Lee around to score.
- Southeastern Louisiana scored two runs in the top of the 4th, stringing together two singles and a double to center field.
- The Lions added two more runs in the top of the 6th to take a 4-1 lead over A&M-Corpus Christi. However, the Blue and Green rallied for three runs in the bottom half of the inning to tie the game at 4-4.

Avery Ratcliff started the rally with a single to left field followed by a single from
Ashleigh Sgambelluri to put two on with no outs. Sophomore
Sammi Thomas then crushed her first home run of the season over the center field fence to clear the bases and tie the game at 5-5.
- The game went to extra innings where both teams exchanged runs in the 8th. SLU broke the deadlock in the top of the 10th with four runs. The Islanders edged closer in the bottom half of the inning, grabbing a run on a ground out by Lee that scored
Alexandria Torres to cut the lead to 9-6. That proved to be the final score as the Lions took the extra inning victory.
- Thomas led the offense, batting four-of-five with the game tying home run. Morse added three hits while Hoyt and Sgambelluri each collected two.

Jenika Lombrana pitched all 10 innings for the Islanders, recording seven strikeouts.
Game Three
- The finale proved to be a low scoring affair as both teams combined for just three runs. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi struck first with a run in the bottom of the 5th on a sacrifice fly to left field from Lee that brought
Kennedy Jimenez home to score.
- The Lions tied the game in the top of the 6th and grabbed the lead in the 7th. The Islanders could not rally in the final half inning, as the Lions earned their second victory of the weekend.
- Morse, Thomas and Jimenez all collected two hits, while senior pitcher
Kandace Johnson threw another complete game, giving up only two earned runs on six hits with three strikeouts.
