CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi beach volleyball program announced its 2021 schedule, which was highlighted by a home tournament and hosting the Southland Conference Championships.

A&M-Corpus Christi will run its Islander Classic at Water's Edge Park on April 2-3. The institution will also host the 2021 SLC Championships on April 23-25 at Water's Edge Park.

"I am looking forward to getting back out there and playing against some of beach volleyball's best programs in the country. Thanks to our athletic department's safety guidelines, we were able to lift our level of play in a secure environment this fall. Our players have been real troopers and they cannot wait to play collegiate beach volleyball again," said head coach
Gayle Stammer. "This is a special season for us, hosting the inaugural Southland Conference Beach Volleyball Championships on our beautiful courts downtown at Water's Edge Park."

The season begins on Feb. 26 with a trip to Houston Baptist. The following weekend on March 5-7, the Islanders will travel to the state of Arizona to take-on Grand Canyon and Arizona.

A&M-Corpus Christi's lone mid-week match comes on March 10 when it makes the short trip to Texas A&M-Kingsville.

Other weekends include a visit to New Orleans to face Tulane and LSU, and a ride to Forth Worth, Texas to participate in TCU's tournament.

The Mid-Season Conference Tournament is slated for April 17-18 in Houston.

The Islanders are coming off a shortened season where they finished 5-3 overall and 3-0 in conference. They are riding a five-match winning-streak.
