FRISCO, Texas - Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi had 96 baseball, men's basketball, women's basketball, golf, softball, men's tennis, women's tennis and track & field student athletes named to the Spring 2019 Commissioner's Honor Roll on Thursday. In all, the Southland Conference honored 10 spring sports and 1,414 total student-athletes for their academic work.
The Commissioner's Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes in the sports of baseball, men's basketball, women's basketball, golf, softball, men's tennis, women's tennis and track & field who maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average in the semester of their sport.
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi student-athletes had a Spring 2018 GPA of 3.18 giving the department a cumulative GPA of 3.21. There were 46 student-athletes with a 4.0 GPA and 194 Islanders with a 3.0 or better during the fall.
