Campos places 17th at NCAA South Central Regional

- The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi men's cross country program competed at the 2019 NCAA South Central Regional on Friday.
- The race was held at Agri Park in Fayetteville, Ark., and was hosted by Arkansas.
- Valentina Campos placed 17th overall to lead the Islander women. Campos finished the 6K race in 21:25.7.
- The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women finished 15th and the men took 16th.

Women's Highlights
- Alana Blankenship finished 78th overall, finishing in 23:08.5.
- Cambria Clark took 91st in 23:22.8, and Quin Johnson finished right behind her in 92nd place in 23:22.8.
- Arkansas' Taylor Werner won the individual title at 20:30.3, helping lead the Razorbacks to the team title.
- The women's race had 22 total teams and 150 individual competitors.

Men's Highlights
- Tristan Stellmach was the men's top finisher, placing 45th in 31:37.7.
- Marek Spriestersbach ran a personal best 31:43.0 on the 10K course, finishing 50th.
- Isaac Vargas also ran a personal best 31:58.1 to take 60th place individually.
- Texas won the team title and UT's Sam Worley won the individual title at 29:49.8.
- The men's race featured 22 teams and 156 total competitors.
