- The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi cross country's
Valentina Campos took 10th overall at the Arturo Barrios Invitational on Saturday morning.
- Campos crossed the line in 20:40.6, a personal best for the junior at the 6K distance.
- The Islander women took 17th place overall. Three runners, including Campos set personal best times on the 6K course.
- On the men's side, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi finished 18th overall.

Isaac Vargas finished 41st individually, running a personal best 24:45.3 on the 8K course.

Tristan Stellmach also ran a personal best time of 24:54.8, placing 50th overall.
- In all, the Islanders had 10 personal bests on the day, seven on the men's side and three coming from the women.
- The meet was run at the Dale Watts Cross Country Course in College Station, Texas.
- Saturday's race featured 26 teams on both the men's and women's sides. There were 238 women runners and 226 men.

South Texas Showdown
- Saturday's race served as the cross country competition for the
South Texas Showdown, presented by NavyArmy Community Credit Union.
- UTRGV took 13th place in both the men's and women's races to claim the six available cross country points in the standings.
