Houston, Texas - Texas A&M-Corpus Christi finished the Houston Invitaitional 3-2 beating Mississippi Valley State and Southern, and losing to Houston twice. On Friday, the Islanders defeated Mississippi Valley State 5-2 before a rematch Saturday morning where the Islanders were able to win again 5-2. The next game was played against tournament host, University of Houston, where the Blue and Green lost 6-0. In the last day of play, Corpus Christi run-ruled Southern 10-2 before falling to Houston for the second time, 6-1. All three pitchers made appearances in the circle this past weekend. 

Game One
To start off the last day of play, Corpus Christi run-ruled Southern University 10-2 in 6 innings. Kandace Johnson started in the circle for the Islanders before Ashley Smith came in in the 6th inning. Kandace Johnson only gave up 5 hits out of the 24 batters she faced. At the plate, Kaylee Hoppens went 2-for-4 scoring 2 runs.

>> Kandace Johnson and Taelor Thomas both scored off of a throwing error
>> The Islanders finished the inning with 5 runs, 5 hits, 1 error, and 1 left on base

>> Brock scored on a wild pitch

>> Taelor Thomas homered down the right field line scoring Whitney Wendel for 2 RBI

-Bottom of the Sixth
>> With bases loaded, Keagan Helson scored on a wild pitch
>> Whitney Wendel was walked scoring Avery Ratcliff to run-rule Southern 10-2

Game Two
After coming out strong in the first game of the day, the Islanders fell to Houston for the second time this weekend 6-1. Kaylon Dunn was the only player to score off of her hit.
