Corpus Christi, Texas - In his first season at the head of the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi cross country and track & field programs, Coach
Brent Ericksen introduced his team's upcoming schedule for the 2017 campaign.
All of the Islanders regular season meets will take place in the state of Texas, including the self-hosted Islander Splash this September 23rd. Both men and women will compete at the Rice Invitational for a third consecutive year to open up the season on September 8th. The men's cross country side finished second at last season's invite, while the women claimed seventh of 14.
The Blue and Green will begin the month of October on the road at either the Texas A&M Open in College Station or the University of Incarnate Word Invite in San Antonio, Texas. The Islanders took first place on both the men's and women's sides at the UIW Invite the previous season, while the men have come out on top for three straight years as a team.Â
This year's Southland Conference Championship takes place on October 27th in Abilene, where ACU will host the title meet for the first time since 1970. The Islander men and women will be looking for their first Southland Championship title in school history, and a return trip to the South Central Regional Championships in College Station, Texas.
