Maki, Lyon Join Islander Sports Properties

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Texas A&M-Corpus Christi welcomed two new staff members to the Island as part of the partnership with Peak Sports MGMT as Devan Maki and Colton Lyon joined the Islanders Monday.
 
Maki will serve as the general manager of the newly minted Islander Sports Properties. Maki joins the Islanders after a two-year stint at Little Rock. With the Trojans, Maki assisted with the program's marketing and sales as Little Rock saw a 167-percent increase in basketball attendance.
 
During his time in Little Rock, Maki collected over $50,000 in donations to help boost the SpectacUALR campaign to over $200,000 in total. On the marketing side, Maki created planes for baseball and softball promotion while also assisting in basketball planning.
 
Maki will lead the new Islander Sports Properties, which will head up corporate sales for the Blue and Green.  Along with Maki, Colton Lyon will join the staff as an Account Executive.
 
Lyon joins the Islanders' staff out of LSU where he worked as the Director of Client Relations and Marketing at the Zahkii Sports Group. With Zahkii Sports, Lyon organized philanthropic events for the Keenan Lewis Foundation. As part of his work, he secured various donors and items for necessary for the events.
