CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas –  Texas A&M-Corpus Christi sophomore
Cynthia Quiroga earned Southland Conference Runner of the Week honors on Tuesday, as announced by the league office.

Quiroga earned the award after winning the UTRGV Dual meet in Edinburg on Friday. The San Antonio native defeated all other runners by more than 13 seconds, finishing the 3,200-meter course in 11:29.29.

Quiroga is coming off of a successful spring season on the track. She placed fifth at the Southland Conference Outdoor Championships in the 3000M Steeplechase, scoring four points for the Islanders with a time of 11:29.23.

Fabian Lutz was also named Honorable Mention Runner of the Week for his win at the UTRGV Duals on Friday.
