CORPUS CHRISTI – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's soccer team opened its 2015 preseason this week, with the first practice held on Thursday afternoon at the Dugan Family Soccer and Track Stadium. The Islanders will kick off the 2015 campaign on Friday, Aug. 21, at UNLV.
"We started Wednesday morning testing their agility, so this is the first real training session we've had so far," head coach Shanna Caldwell said. "They look good, the majority of the returners worked hard over the summer. We're in a much, much better place than we were a year ago in the preseason. Last year we already had a bunch of injuries partly because it was the first summer away for our players. So it's been nice even in small bits to see the progress we've made from last year."
