CORPUS CHRISTI – Jessica Mendez has been named the GoIslanders.com Student-Athlete of
the Week, presented by Pepsi.
Mendez, a sophomore, led the Islanders to their third Southland Conference series victory over Sam Houston State and their first sweep of the season. She powered the Islanders' bats with a .667 batting average and four hits, including two doubles. She also registered three RBIs and a .714 on-base percentage while slugging 1.000.
