CORPUS CHRISTI – The Texas A&M - Corpus Christi volleyball team has teamed with Cinco De Mayo Longboard Pro event for its annual Beach Slam on Saturday, May 2, at the North Packery Channel.
"The Beach Slam has always been one of our favorite days of the year and a great way to spend time with our supporters and raise money for Islanders volleyball," head coach Tony Graystone said. "This year we feel very fortunate to team up with the Greer Foundation and the Cinco De Mayo Longboard Pro event.
"By partnering up, the Beach Slam will be a much bigger and better event and participants will be able to enjoy music, food and watch other competitive events while still supporting the Islanders and playing in the beach volleyball tournament. I'm really excited about the direction we're headed with the Beach Slam and looking forward to seeing the event grow along with the Cinco De Mayo Longboard Pro."
The Beach Slam is a four-player co-ed tournament with a maximum of six people per team, and one girl must be playing at all times. The games are played to 21 (win by two) and there's a cap of 25 points. Anyone 14 years and older are welcome to participate.
The cost is $150 per team and participants can register HERE. Check-in starts at 8:30 a.m. with the tournament slated for 9 a.m.
