RIO VERDE, Ariz. – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's golf team posted a final-round 318 to finish with a 963 for the entirety of the Rio Verde Invitational, which concluded play on Sunday on the White Wing Course.
Seton Hall took the team title with a three-round 896 (296-298-302), four strokes ahead of second-place Toledo (301-295-304—900) and Northern Arizona (304-302-294—900). Eastern Michigan (303-301-301—905) and UMKC (303-301-303—907) rounded out the top five.
Individually, Seton Hall had a pair of golfers share the title, with Alison Kruse (72-74-72—218) and Erin McClure (71-73-74—218) tying for the top spot. Wichita State's Alejandra Arellano (73-76-72—221) finished third, while four players tied for fourth place.
For the Islanders, Anna Millet-Esteve delivered a 78 in the third and final round to finish first among her team with a three-round 240 (84-78-78). Nagisa Miura also fired a 78 in the final round to rebound in her three-round 250 (86-86-78). Julia Dereniwsky shot 80 for the final 18 holes to finish with a 241 (82-79-80), while Ana Paredes scored an 82 on Sunday to post a 243 (84-77-82). Olivia Lowe shot 85 for the final round to finish with a 246 (80-81-85).
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi will get right back on the course, as the team heads to the Shootout at Shingle Creek in Orlando, Fla., from Friday, March 20, to Sunday, March 22. Updates will be provided as they become available via Twitter (@IslandersGolf).
