RIO VERDE, Ariz. – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's golf team cut 15 strokes off its first-round performance to deliver a second-round 315 on Saturday in the Rio Verde Invitational.
Sophomore Ana Paredes shot 77 in the second round to lead the Islanders, while Anna Millet-Esteve delivered a 78. Julia Dereniwsky fired a 79, while Olivia Lowe carded an 81. Nagisa Miura finished out the scoring with an 86 for the Islanders. Through two rounds, Paredes, Dereniwsky and Lowe each have a 161, while Millet-Esteve is one shot back at 162.
Seton Hall leads the team competition with a two-round 594 (296-298), just two strokes ahead of Toledo (301-295—596). Ohio (299-303) and Missouri State (308-294) are tied for third with a 602, while Eastern Michigan and UMKC round out the top five, with each shooting 604 through 36 holes.
Erin McClure of Seton Hall is the only player to sit at par or better, leading the way with a 144 (71-73). Toledo's Sathika Ruenreong (74-71—145) is one shot behind in second place, while Alison Kruse (72-74—146) sits third. Manisa Isavas and Stephanie St. Jean of Toledo are tied for fourth with EMU's Thelma Beck with 147 after two rounds.
