CORPUS CHRISTI – Senior Chelsea Horan has been named the GoIslanders.com Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Pepsi.
Horan helped the Islanders women's tennis team clinch their third straight victory this season after recording a straight-set victory in No. 6 singles on Sunday over Texas-Pan American. The native of San Antonio downed Lison Le Biavant 6-3, 6-1, for her first singles win this season. She also teamed up with freshman Jelena Dzinic at No. 2 doubles for a 6-1 win over Dominique Esparza/Mariana Ranzahuer to help the Islanders garner the doubles point.
