CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's basketball team will face Angelo State on Friday night at the Dugan Wellness Center with a tipoff set for 7 p.m. The matchup starts a stretch of four games in nine days for the Islanders.
In their last game, the blue and green relied on a 19-point first quarter and clutch defending down the stretch to pull out a 49-46 victory against rival UT-Rio Grande Valley. Camesha Davis picked up a season-high 11 points, while leading adding a game-high seven rebounds.
The game will be broadcast live on the Islanders Digital Network free of charge with Yannis Koutroupis on the call.
THE BELLES
- Angelo State comes to the Coastal Bend riding a two-game winning streak and 5-1 overall this season.
- Taylor Dorsey leads the Belles with 17.7 points per game.
- Through six games this season, the Belles are averaging 85.5 points per game and surrendering 62.7 points against.
LONG STRETCH
- Four games in nine days starts Friday against Angelo State, before facing UNLV on Monday (Dec. 14).

PLAYING A ROLE
- The Islanders have several players who have stepped into pivotal roles this season.
- Brittany Mbamalu has connected on 15 of 41 3-pointers for 36.6-percent shooting from deep.
- Kassie Jones is averaging 7.2 points per game coming off the bench in four of the five games this season.
- Freshman Maddisen Turner has started the last three games. The Houston native averaged eight points and 7.3 rebounds per game during the stretch.
