CORPUS CHRISTI – Zane Knowles has been named the GoIslanders.com Student-Athletes of the Week, presented by Pepsi.
Knowles had an outstanding week in leading the Islanders to a pair of victories. In the win over Central Arkansas on Thursday, he came up one rebound short of a double-double, scoring 14 points along with nine boards.
He followed that with 12 points and 11 boards, his sixth double-double of the season, against Oral Roberts, as the Islanders swept the season series with the Golden Eagles. Knowles also posted two assists in each game and went 13-for-16 from the field on the week.
The Islanders will have Thursday off before traveling to Houston Baptist for their final road trip on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
