LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's golf team shot a second-round 310, cutting 11 strokes off their first-round score, to remain in 10th at the Pat Bradley Invitational on Monday. Ana Paredes shot 74 in the second round and sits in 24th with a 152 overall at the event.
"We did a nice job yesterday of improving our consistency and today we improved that even more," head coach Carol Blackmar said. "I was really happy with the way Ana played – she continues to really improve both as a golfer and as a leader on our team. But all five of our players had really nice days, and I was really pleased. We need one more solid round to carry us into our winter season on a positive note."
In addition to Paredes' 2-over 74, Julia Dereniwsky delivered a plus-5 77 in the second round to sit at 159 through 36 holes. Anna Millet-Esteve posted a 79 on Monday to go along with a first-round 80. Nagisa Miura and Olivia Lowe each shot 80 in Monday's action, as Miura enters the final round with a 161 and Lowe with a 164.
Memphis continues to lead the team competition after shooting 296 today to sit at plus-8 through two rounds. Host Florida International is five strokes back after posting 294 on Monday. Daytona State (294-296—590) and Jacksonville (298-294—592) round out the top four teams at the event after two rounds of action.
DSU's Tiffany Chen shot her second straight 70 to sit 4-under through two rounds for the individual lead, while Jacksonville's Sabrina Rumbraugh is two strokes back at 2-under after consecutive rounds of 71. Round one leader Michaela Fletcher of Memphis fell back to even par after shooting 75. She is tied with JU's Jessica Welch (72-72) and FIU's Meghan MacLaren (72-72) with 144 through the first 36 holes.
The final round of the Pat Bradley Invitational will feature a 9 a.m. ET shotgun start, with the Islanders pairing with Florida Atlantic and Drake in the final round of action.
