WALNUT, Calif. – The Texas A&M - Corpus Christi men's and women's track and field teams clocked season and personal-best times Thursday at the 55th annual Mt. SAC Relays at the Historic Hilmer Lodge Stadium at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, Calif. The Islanders will continue the relays in four events today.
After a 22 hour travel day on Wednesday with flight delays, the Islanders overcame the fatigue to clock season and personal-best times on Thursday.
"It was a good outing Thursday with the day they had on Wednesday," Head Coach Shawn Flanagan said. "With proper preparation we will be ready to run fast today."
Sophomores Philipp Baar and Valentinas Rudys both clocked personal-best times in the men's 1500m. Baar crossed the line with a personal-best time of 3:49.23 to place 26 out of 131 runners while Rudys crossed the line with a personal-best time of 3:54.98.
