Inside Islanders Basketball - Jelani Currie

CORPUS CHRISTI – Throughout the summer and into the early fall semester, GoIslanders.com will talk with members of the Islanders men's basketball team to give you more insight into the ins and outs of the basketball program. Today, we visit with freshman guard Jelani Currie.

Currie comes to Corpus Christi from Albany, N.Y., where he starred in three sports for Albany Academy – track and field and football along with basketball. On the court, he averaged 22 points, eight rebounds and three assists in leading his team to a 14-5 record.
