KATY, Texas – Texas A&M - Corpus Christi women's basketball senior Myeisha Myles was named Southland Conference honorable mention, voted by the league's head coach and sports information directors, the league office announced Monday.
Myles, a native of New Orleans, La., returned for her senior year, after sitting out last season with an injury, to lead the Islanders in scoring with 11.0 points per game and 6.9 rebounds per game. She finished third in the conference with a .516 field goal percentage and finished in the top 10 in blocked shots and offensive rebounds. The senior posted a conference high 12 field goals against Northwestern State (2/4), joining four other players in the conference to do so, while registering a career-high 27 points. On the season, she posted 15 double-figure games and tallied four double-doubles.
This is Myles first Southland Conference honor in her career as an Islander.
Myles was also named to the Southland All-Conference Second Team by College Sports Madness.
