Meet Your Islanders: Volleyball's Micah Nolan
Micah Nolan, the libero for the Islander women's volleyball team, made her 2011-12 season a record breaking one. The sophomore etched her name in the record book by setting a new record for digs in a career, totaling 1093 to this point. Additionally, she holds the all-time single-season record with 590 digs this year. Nolan is also ranked seventh nationally in digs.
During the season, Nolan was named Southland Conference Defensive Player of The Week; the only Islanders player to receive the weekly award from the Southland this year.
Nolan is next up in the "Meet Your Islanders" features for GoIslanders.com, a unique way to get to truly know your Islander athletes. Media Relations Intern Amy Carrizales conducts the weekly in-depth feature on Islanders athletes that help them connect with their fans.
