CORPUS CHRISTI - Former Islanders women's
golfer Liza Mucheru-Wisner was eliminated from competition on "The
Apprentice" on NBC on Thursday night's episode. The Corpus Christi
native advanced all the way to the final three on the hit
television show, but was eliminated when host Donald Trump trimmed
the field to two contestants.
Mucheru-Wisner played for the Islanders from 1999-2003 and was
fourth all-time in school history with 27 tournaments played and
nine top-10 finishes. Her lowest round with the Islanders was a 72
during her junior year at the New Mexico State Invitational.
She now works full-time as the associate director of the ELITE
Graduate program at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
Following her playing career, Wisner completed her education and
received her Master's degree while simultaneously starting an
educational technology company named Texas Techies. The
organization was started to help bring opportunities that would not
otherwise be available to underprivileged children.
