Former Texas
A&M-Corpus Christi baseball player Paul Saville has been named
to the Southland Conference Capital One All-Academic Baseball first
team the conference office has announced.
Saville, a
recent graduate with a degree in kinesiology, was an automatic
selection to the first team after earning CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine
District VI First Team honors. He maintained a 4.0 grade point
average at A&M-Corpus Christi and received an award for the
highest GPA in the Islander Athletic Department at the awards
banquet in May. Saville also received the Southland Conference's
F.L. McDonald Postgraduate Scholarship last month.
As a senior,
Saville played in 43 games with 24 starts. He drove in career-best
12 RBI and hit the lone home run of his Islander career at
McNeese State. From Burlington, Ontario, Saville finished his
career in the top 10 in steals and times hit by a pitch.
Texas State's
