Texas
A&M-Corpus Christi will hit the road for the final time to face
Stephen F. Austin in
Nacogdoches Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Johnson Coliseum.
The Lumberjacks
hold the league's best overall record at 23-4 with three of the
four losses coming in league play, including a 75-65 setback to UT
Arlington Saturday night.
The Islanders will be looking to snap a four-game losing skid after
their 65-51 setback to UTSA.
The Islanders
need to win their final two games and hope either UTSA or
Southeastern Louisiana drop their final two games in hopes of
getting the eighth and final seed of the Southland Conference
Tournament. Stephen F.
Austin looks to be the No. 2 seed, while Lamar holds the top spot
with a win over the Lumberjacks.
In
the first meeting this season, Kevin Perkins and Demond Watt scored
12 points each, while the Islanders hit 49 percent from the field
in the 71-62 loss in Corpus Christi.
The Lumberjacks
did one better, hitting 51.2 percent with Matt Kingsley putting in
a game-high 29 points on 9-of-15 shooting. Josh Alexander and Scott Weaver added
with 15 and 10 points respectively.
After the SFA
game, the Islanders will return home for the regular season finale
at 1 p.m. Saturday against Sam Houston State.
