DANIELS, REYNOLDS HONORED BY SLC

Senior Chris Daniels and freshman Justin Reynolds were honored by the Southland Conference as they were named to the All-SLC third and honorable mention teams voted on by head coaches and sports information directors.

Daniels, a four-year player with the Islanders, led the team in scoring with 12.4 points, hitting 50.6 percent from the field. He became A&M-Corpus Christi's all-time leading scorer earlier this year and finished his career with 1,407 points. He also finished his stellar career as the school's all-time leading shot blocker with 170 and field goals made with 537.

Daniels collected three double-doubles this season along with three 20-or-more point games and was second in rebounding with 6.2 per game and finished second on the school's all-time list with 681.

Reynolds, a freshman from Pearland, was named to the honorable mention team after averaging 11.7 points and a team-high 7.2 rebounds a game. He set nearly every A&M-Corpus Christi freshman record, including points (339), field goals made (128), field goals attempted (267), free throws (66), free throws attempted (109), rebounds (208), offensive rebounds (89), defensive rebounds (119) and rebounding average (7.2).

Reynolds scored 14 points and pulled down seven rebounds in his first collegiate game and finished his freshman season with a team-high six double-doubles.

The Islanders finished the 2007-08 season with a 9-20 mark that included a 70-63 win over Sam Houston State in the final game of the season.
