Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi middle blocker Lauren
Paslay has been named the Southland Conference Player of the Week
for her performance at the Texas A&M Tournament this past
weekend.
The junior from
Banquete, Texas collected 36 kills in just nine games, averaging a
league, best 4.0 per game. Paslay led the Islanders in kills in two
of the three matches, including a career-high 17 in a 3-0 win over
Prairie View A&M. She had just 15 errors in 81 attacks for a
.259 hitting percentage.
Paslay led the
Islanders to a 2-1 record at the tournament, dropping the first
match, 3-0 to Texas A&M before sweeping Prairie View A&M
and Centenary.
Defensively, she
recorded 12 digs to go along with one block solo and a block
assist.
The Islanders
will return to action this weekend when they head to Houston to
compete in the Rice Mizuno Invitational. There, they will take on
Rice, Houston and LSU.
