Former Texas
A&M-Corpus Christi catcher Josh Plumaj has been named to the
Capital One/Southland Conference All-Academic Team the conference
office announced on Thursday.
Plumaj, who
maintained a 4.0 grade point average throughout his career, was one
13 Southland Conference players selected to the team.
Sam Houston State's Luke Prihoda, who led the nation in saves, was
the league's Student-Athlete of the Year with a 3.65 GPA in
business.
Earlier this year,
Plumaj was named to the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic
All-America second team. The catcher was
named to Dean's List at A&M-Corpus Christi six times at
A&M-Corpus Christi. On the field, Plumaj finished the season
tied for the team lead with eight home runs and was third in RBI
with 38. He finished his career ranked fourth in several categories
including home runs with 20, in RBI with 100 and doubles with
30.
