Texas A&M-Corpus Christ women?s tennis head coach Ken De
Koning has signed Erika Aguilera to a National Letter of Intent it
was announced on Friday, May 13, 2005.
Aguilera, from San Jeronimo Lidice, Mexico, played in high school
at Tecnologico de Monterrey in Mexico City for head coach Alejando
Herrera. The Borregoes finished third at the national university
tournament this past season.
?Erika is very good player from the baseline with her ground
strokes and at the net,? said De Koning. ?She is an exceptionally
strong player at the net and will help the team both in singles and
doubles. Erika should fit in to our top three or four right
away.?
The incoming freshmen will join a team that returns seven of eight
starters and went 7-9 this past season including a second-place
finish at the Independent Championship.
