NORMAN, Okla. - Whitney Stromgren and Jennifer
Rogers shot a three-round total of 244 to pace the Islanders to a
15th place finish at the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic, which was
good enough to tie for 52nd place overall.
The Islanders shot a combined 980 in the three rounds, just four
strokes behind Arkansas State, who finished with a 976. Missouri
won the tournament by shooting an 889, 10 strokes ahead of second
place finisher Tulsa.
SMU?s Lacey Jones won the event with a three-round score of 221,
which was five over par. Three others shot a 222 to tie for
second.
A&M-Corpus Christi?s Candace Deschamps was four strokes behind
Stromgren and Rogers, shooting a 248, while Tiffany Soza and
Meaghan Franz shot a 251 and 255 respectively.
Baylor finished third in the tournament, while SMU and Texas Tech
rounded out the top five.
