The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women?s tennis team heads to
Dallas on Saturday for a 2 p.m. dual match with perennial power
SMU.
?This will be an extremely challenging match for us,? said Islander
head coach Ken DeKoning. ?SMU is one of the top programs in the
country and the team has just gotten back from Christmas break so
we haven?t had much time to prepare. My girls are grinders and will
battle hard. We don?t get a chance to play teams like SMU a lot and
I am hopeful we will have some decent results.?
The squad heads into the spring led by Carlota Santos. Lana Burton,
Lauren Schmidt, Amanda Brahim, Veronica Nicholls, and Carmen
Abeaboeru join Santos. Freshman Stephanie Canales of Corpus Christi
was added to the roster at the start of the spring semester by
DeKoning.
