STILLWATER, OKLA. - The Texas A&M-Corpus
Christi baseball team (12-17) reached the six hit plateau for the
fifth time in the 11th consecutive game, but dropped an 11-2
decision to Oklahoma State (15-7) this afternoon at Reynolds
Stadium. Centerfielder James Garner (Sr., Corpus Christi) recorded
a base hit for the tenth consecutive game, with a two-for-four
performance.
The Islanders got off to a quick start, taking a 2-0 lead in the
top of the first inning. Shortstop Jaime Landin (Jr., Brownsville)
started the rally with a lead off infield single, and moved to
second on a one-out single from left fielder Michael Schlekewy
(Sr., Calgary, Alberta, Canada). First Baseman Josh Hulin (Sr.,
Odessa) followed with a single to left centerfield to load the
bases. The Cowboys attempted to turn an inning-ending double play
on a ground ball from catcher Jose Rodriguez (Jr., Los Angeles,
Calif.), but an errant throw by OSU shortstop Chris Gutierrez
allowed Landin and Schlekewy to score.
Oklahoma cut the deficit in half, plating a run in the bottom of
the second inning when Thomas Incaviglia?s two-out double scored
Rusty Ryal from second base.
Oklahoma State scored six runs in the fourth inning to take a 7-2
lead, sending 10 batters to the plate. OSU held a 3-2 lead when
Jason Jaramillo belted a grand slam to provide the final runs of
the inning.

Christi. Hulin extended his hitting streak to seven games for the
Islanders. Jaramillo went two-for-five for OSU with five RBI.
