HOUSTON, TEX. ? Texas A&M-Corpus Christi?s Katie Evans
(Tempe, Ariz.) was named to the 2003 Verizon Academic All-District
VI softball squad for the second consecutive season, it was
announced Thursday.
On the year, Evans leads the Islanders in seven offensive
categories, including average (.367), hits (51), doubles (12), RBI
(22), total bases (72), slugging percentage (.518), and on base
percentage (.437).
The junior has been named to the Dean?s List (3.6 or higher) four
out of five semesters at A&M-CC including three perfect 4.0
averages.
Evans advances to the Verizon Academic All-American national ballot
to be named in a few weeks.
