The Texas A&M – Corpus Christi Volleyball team will close out its annual spring practice season with a home tournament at the Dugan Wellness Center on Saturday in Corpus Christi.
After participating in the F.A.S.T. Complex Spring College Tournament, the Islanders play host to four teams during the day at home.
The first matchup will start at 9 a.m. for Texas A&M – Corpus Christi, with the team taking on Coastal Bend Junior College in the early morning, followed by a 10:15 a.m. match against Wharton JC before breaking for lunch.
Play will start back up at 12:45 p.m. against Southland foe Sam Houston State, and the final match of the day is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. against Texas A&M – International.
Admission to all matches is free to the public.
It will be the last event for the team, but the volleyball program will also host the inaugural Islander Volleyball Beach Slam in April. The tournament starts at 9 a.m. on April 13, and teams will be co-ed and comprised of no more than six people, with four playing at a time in which one must be a female.
The cost for the event will be $100 per team, and will be held at the South Packery Channel by the Holiday Inn on Padre Island. The event is open to anyone ages 14 and up, with all teams being guaranteed at least four matches during the day.
