Brianna Brink signs NLI with Islanders Volleyball
The Texas A&M ? Corpus Christi volleyball program added an offensive force on the outside after signing Brianna Brink to a #$%^National Letter of Intent during the spring signing period. Brink, a 6-foot-1 outside hitter, will be an incoming freshman from #$%^Corona, Calif., that played four seasons at Norco High School.

The Texas A&M ? Corpus Christi volleyball program will be hosting its first-ever spring tournament on Saturday, April 2 at the #$%^Dugan Wellness Center. The Islanders Spring Invite will feature the host team as well as Sam Houston State, Incarnate Word, #$%^Temple College and a team of alumni.

Emma Ridley was named First Team All-Southland on Wednesday afternoon following a vote of the league coaches and sports #$%^information directors. It is the second-straight first team honor for Ridley after being one of the most dominant offensive players #$%^in the conference for the second year in-a-row.

SAN MARCOS ? The Texas A&M ? Corpus Christi lost a 3-0 (25-17, 25-17, 25-19) match to Texas State in the final match of the #$%^year to end the 2010 season. A Nicholls 3-1 win over Northwestern State eliminated the Islanders from qualifying for the #$%^Southland Conference Tournament next week in Huntsville.

Emma Ridley named Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Week
Texas A&M ? Corpus Christi senior Emma Ridley was named the Southland Conference's Volleyball Offensive Player of the #$%^Week on Monday afternoon, following a vote by the sports information directors in the league. It is the first time that Ridley has #$%^received the honor and the first time for an Islanders player since Lauren Paslay was named Offensive Player of the Week #$%^following the first weekend of the 2007 season.

The Islanders set a Dugan Wellness Center volleyball attendance record with 1,249 fans at the match.

Flagstaff, Ariz. - The Texas A&M - Corpus Christi volleyball team was able to complete a sweep on the second day of action at the Northern Arizona Fiesta Bowl Tournament while just missing its first match sweep of the season with a 3-1 (25-16, 25-23, 27-29, 25-22) over the Rider Broncs. Freshmen Isabella Arcidiacono and Logen Bourque were name to the all-tournament team for their play throughout the weekend.

The Texas A&M - Corpus Christi volleyball team returns to action on Friday night in the Northern Arizona Fiesta Bowl Tournament in Flagstaff, Ariz. to take on the host NAU Lumberjacks. On Saturday the Islanders will face two opponents, taking to the court at 11:00 a.m. to play Maryland Eastern Shore and returning to action at 6:30 p.m. to close out play against Rider at the Rolle Activity Center.

ISLANDERS BEAT UALR TO EARN SPLIT ON FIRST DAY OF SEASON
Starkville, Miss. - Senior Emma Ridley picked up where she left off last season as the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi volleyball team held on to take a 3-2 (25-17, 26-24, 21-25, 23-25, 15-8) win over the UALR Trojans to finish the opening day of the season. Ridley had a team-high 21 kills in the match, her second double-digit match of the season and the 27th of her Islander career. She now sits at 495 kills, and will become just the 10th player to reach the 500 kill mark in program history with five more kills.

With three new faces playing the setter position at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi this season, head coach Tony Graystone and #$%^assistant coach Kendra Potts are perfectly comfortable in this position. By his count, this will be the fourth time in his coaching #$%^career that he has entered a season with a true freshman starting at the position, including once when Potts played for him at #$%^West Texas A&M.

The top outside hitter in the #$%^conference, Ridley was an automatic selection after being named First-Team All-Southland and Newcomer of the Year last #$%^season.

ISLANDER VOLLEYBALL ATTRACTS NEW FANS WITH SUMMER CAMPS
The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi volleyball program is gaining new fans everyday as over 220 kids participated in the recently completed summer camps put on by the Islanders and head coach Tony Graystone. With a full year under his belt as the leader of the program, Graystone and his staff increased the attendance to this year's camps by over 35% after having just over 160 kids last year.

ISLANDER RECRUITING CLASS RANKED IN TOP 100 NATIONALLY
The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi volleyball program had one of its strongest recruiting classes ever this season, picking up seven high school signees to put them in top 100 recruiting classes in the nation. They are also rated as the second-best signing class in the Southland Conference when PrepVolleyball.com recently released their rankings.
