The Texas A&M – Corpus Christi women's tennis team will be back in action this Wednesday afternoon, taking on Southland Conference-rival UTSA at 2 p.m. in a league match at the Thomas J. Henry Tennis Center.
The Islanders (6-2, 1-1 Southland) are coming off of a heartbreaking 4-3 loss, just their second of the season, to a tough Northwestern State team, and will be looking to get back on track against the Roadrunners.
UTSA is currently 7-4 on the season and 2-1 in league play. The last time the two teams met, the Islanders came away with a 6-1 win in San Antonio.
Mirna Cicak will lead he team into the match with her 6-2 record at No. 1 singles, Chelsea Horan and Mia Matuszak have won six singles matches each, while Sandra Burges and Stefania Nicolae have five apiece.
Following the midweek match, the Islanders will play Texas – Pan American this Saturday in the Islanders Women's Team Shootout. Match time is set for 1 p.m. at the Thomas J. Henry Tennis Center.
