CORPUS CHRISTI – The Texas A&M – Corpus Christi women's golf team will return to the links on Monday, March 25, when it travels to Hot Springs, Ark., for the UALR Women's Golf Classic. The event will be three rounds, with the first two played on Monday and the final 18 holes to be played on Tuesday, March 26.
Hosted by the University of Arkansas-Little Rock, the event will be hosted at Diamante Country Club in Hot Springs. The event will open on Monday with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
The Islanders will send their same fivesome of seniors Nikki Dunn and Taylor Slagle, juniors Lindsay Biehler and Krista Fenniak and sophomore Vanessa Johnson. Those five have represented the Islanders in each of the first three events this spring.
Dunn led the Islanders last time out, at the Rio Verde Invitational, taking a 13th-place finish. She also topped the team at the spring's first event, the Islanders Classic, finishing in 11th.
Along with host UALR and the Islanders, 15 other teams will compete in the event, including four from the Southland. Sam Houston State, Central Arkansas and Oral Roberts will join A&M – Corpus Christi in the Classic. Other teams competing include Arkansas State, Ball State, Eastern Michigan, Middle Tennessee State, UMKC, Missouri State, North Texas, Northern Colorado, Northern Iowa, South Alabama, UTEP and Wichita State.
