RIO VERDE, Ariz. – The Texas A&M – Corpus Christi golf team shot a second-round 317 to finish in 15th place at the Rio Verde Invitational, played on the White Wing Golf Course. The event was shortened to 36 holes due to rain on the opening day of the Invitational.
Senior Nikki Dunn shot a 75 on the second day to finish with a 150 for the tournament, finishing in a tie for 13th place. Taylor Slagle finished in 54th with a 157 (77-80), while Lindsay Biehler delivered a 158 (78-80) to sit 63rd at the event. Vanessa Johnson shot a 160 (78-82) and Krista Fenniak posted a 162 (80-82).
Northern Arizona took the team title by shooting 597 (288-309) at the event. The Lumberjacks held off a hard charge from Xavier, which shot 296 in the second round to finish three shots back with a 600. Eastern Michigan (295-306) and Arkansas-Little Rock (305-296) tied for third at 601.
NAU's Savana Bezdicek took individual medalist honors with an even-par 144 (71-73) for the Invitational. Xavier's Shane Crutchfield (74-71) and Northern Arizona's Stephanie Kim (70-75) tied for second at 145, while UALR earned a fourth-place finish from Emelie Westrup at 146 (73-73).
