Meet Your Islanders: Taylor Slagle, Women's Golf

Taylor Slagle came to Texas A&M - Corpus Christi from Coastal Carolina University following an exceptional year as a freshman at CCU. She was one of three freshmen that were ranked seventh nationally in Golfstat's "freshman Impact Rating." She also helped CCU qualify for the NCAA tournament in the 2010 season.

Q: What do you like most about your coach?

A: She is always motivating and really helpful.

Q: Do you have any superstitions or rituals?

A: The night before I like to watch Friends and keep my good mood going. The day I play I like to listen to whatever song that's been stuck in my head lately.

Q: What are your hobbies outside of golf?

A: I really enjoy reading and swimming.

Q: What type of music would you rather listen to?

A: I listen to Texas country music.

Q: What is the club that you prefer most and type of clubs do you use?

A: I play with Ping clubs and I would have to say my seven iron.

Q: If you could play with anyone who would it be?

A: Annika Sorenstam, she is a really good female golfer.

Q: What is your most memorable game or moment in a game?

A: It would have to be the three different times I got a hole in one.

Q: Where has been the best place you've had a chance to play?

A: Ireland was an experience.

Q: What is your goal for this year?

A: That as a team we win conference.

Q: If you could take a trip anywhere where would you go?

A: I would go somewhere tropical and warm. I would say Australia.

Q:  If you could have any dessert what would it be?

A: I like anything chocolate.
