Ryann White and Nikki Dunn continued their solid effort for the Texas A&M - Corpus Christi women's golf team in the final round the UALR Women's Golf Classic on Tuesday. White finished fourth overall and Dunn just missed a top-10 finish, coming in 11th place at the event.
White concluded the tournament with a closing round of 74 (74-73-74--221), just two shots behind first-place finisher Laura Stemfle (219) of Florida International. Dunn (75-74-76--225) closed with a round of 76, putting her in a five-player logjam for 11th place in the tournament.
The Islanders finished in 16th place (311-309-315-935), three strokes behind Ball State, Western Michigan and Louisiana-Monroe, who tied for 13th. The team finished five strokes shy of catching conference foes Central Arkansas and Lamar, who finished in a tie for 11th.
Cecilia Jeon shot an 82 on day three to finish with a three-round total of 245. Katie Belser posted an 86 on the final day to close with a combined score of 247. Cristina Reynoso improved her score for the third straight round, finishing with an 83 on Tuesday for a 265.
Texas A&M - Corpus Christi will be off for the next two weeks before returning to action with a trip to Waco for the Baylor Spring Invitational on April 11-12. The Islanders then will host the Southland Conference Championship April 18-20 at the Corpus Christi Country Club.
