Women's golf to face strong field at inaugural Dale McNamara Invitational

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's golf team returns to the links for the inaugural Dale McNamara Invitational. The Islanders will face their strongest competition of the fall at the Patriot Golf Club in Owasso, Okla. when first round play begins on Monday.

Last week, A&M-Corpus Christi competed at the ORU Shootout in Tulsa and finished 14th. Ryann White was the team's top finisher, tying for 19th place with Nikki Dunn, Lindsay Biehler and Katie Belser following her.

"This is the strongest field of the fall for us so far," said head coach Carol Blackmar "We're looking forward to seeing how we fare and looking to compete well."

The strong field includes Kansas State, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas from the Big XII conference. In addition, teams from UALR, Kennesaw State, Long Beach State, Middle Tennessee State, Oral Roberts, SMU, UNLV, Wichita State and host Tulsa will be competing.

"This is a young team and we're playing a new course this tournament, but they are ready to compete," said team captain White on playing in the Dale McNamara Invitational.

Tournament play will start each day at 8:00 a.m. from the new 6,450-yard, par-72 Patriot Golf Club in Owasso, Okla.
