LaToya Thomas started working as a graduate assistant manager during the 2011-12 season. Thomas graduated in 2010 from Texas A&M - Corpus Christi with a marketing degree and began her coaching career as an assistant coach to Chanda Rigby at Pensacola State College.  Thomas helped the Lady Pirates to a 35-1 season record while supervising academics and the dorms.

Prior to playing at Texas A&M – Corpus Christi, Thomas played for the Lady Pirates under coach Rigby and graduated with a 3.7 GPA while making the Dean’s list during every term.

As an Islander, Thomas was recognized by the National Consortium for Academics and Sports, Northeastern University’s Sport in Society, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the National Federation of State High School Associations for achieving excellence in academics and athletics, while making significant contributions to the community.

Thomas hails from Hellshire, Jamaica, and represented her home country of Jamaica in Netball at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia.  She also represented Jamaica in Netball at the World Youth Netball Championships in 2005, held in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
