The 2014-15 season will mark Geoff Grawn's 13th season on the Islanders staff as an assistant coach.

During the 2009-10 season, the Islanders clinched the most wins in school history with a 24-11 record. After falling in the Southland Conference title game to Lamar University, the team was selected for the inaugural Women's Basketball Invitational (WBI), reaching the semifinals.  

Four out of the past five seasons, the Islanders have reached the Southland Conference Tournament and each campaign and has won at least one game in the tournament in three out of four appearances.

During the 2004-05 season, Grawn and the Islanders made an appearance at the Women’s National Invitation Meet (NIT) with a 23-7 record, winning in the first round against Fresno State 56-53. 

Grawn coordinates all travel and administration of camps as well as film exchange and outreach. 

Grawn also teaches several kinesiology classes at A&M-Corpus Christi. 

Grawn, a native of Marquette, Mich., joined the Islander staff after a seven-year stint at Northern Michigan University as a team manager and student assistant. During his tenure at NMU, he helped direct the Lady Wildcat program to seven-consecutive NCAA Division II Tournaments, three GLIAC tournament crowns and a spot in the 1998 national tournament semifinals. 

Grawn earned his bachelor's degree in physical education and health from Northern Michigan in 2001. He and his wife Stephanie reside in Flour Bluff and are the proud parents of their son, Madox.
