Myeisha Myles Named Student-Athlete of the Week

CORPUS CHRISTI – Texas A&M - Corpus Christi women's basketball player Myeisha Myles has been named the Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Pepsi. Myles earned the award following her performance last week. 

The Corpus Christi native had back-to-back double-digit scoring games against Colorado and Arkansas State. She added 10 points and nine rebounds in 31 minutes of play in the Islanders' 71-58 loss to Colorado.  

Against Arkansas State, the senior tallied a career-high 24 points on 10-of-12 shooting. She also pulled down a season-high 10 rebounds for her first double-double of the year in 30 minutes of play in the Islanders' 84-71 loss. Myles is averaging 14.3 points, 7.7 rebounds and an average of 31.0 minutes per game. 

Myles and the women's basketball will be in action this weekend at the Houston Baptist Tournament on Friday, Nov. 25, against Texas Southern at 5 p.m. CT and Saturday, Nov. 26, against Houston Baptist at 5:30 p.m. CT.
