Top Performance #9 - Jammer & Scott Go Off Against UTPA

Jessica Jammer and Adrienne Scott set new personal highs against UT Pan American on Jan. 21. Their 44 combined points made up more than half of the 84 total Islanders points in the game.

Scott set a new career-best in rebounds with 16 and barely missed tying her career-high in points with 19 on the night. With her contribution in rebounds, the Islanders outrebounded UTPA by a 43-28 margin in the game.

Jammer shined offensively with 25 total points and topped her previous career-high of 15 points by the end of the first half. She scored 11 points in the first 11 minutes of the game.

Personal highs by Jammer and Scott were of more importance when Lauren Smith went down with an injury. In the midst of the action a complete silence broke through the arena as Smith lay on the floor. Teammates and fans sat tensely as trainers and coaches tended to the senior point guard. Despite Smith's injury, Jammer and Scott lifted team spirit and led the Islanders to the victory. The win was even sweeter as the Islanders avenged an earlier loss in the season to the Lady Broncs, with Jammer and Scott leading their team to the 84-70 victory.
