Islanders travel to Texas State looking to avenge earlier season loss

The Texas A&M - Corpus Christi women's basketball team will be looking to avenge an earlier loss in the season on Wednesday night when they travel to face the Texas State Bobcats in San Marcos at the Strahan Coliseum.

The team is no 2-21 overall and 0-10 in Southland Conference play. The Bobcats come into the game with a record of 8-15 on the season and a 3-7 mark in league games. The Islanders lost 78-76 in overtime on Jan. 26 at the Dugan Wellness Center.

Adrienne Scott is leading the team in scoring at 14.2 points per game while Anitra Jeffery and Ashley Darley are tied for second on the team at 8.1 points a night. Jeffery and Scott are tied for the lead in rebounding at 8.1 per contest.

For Texas State, Diamond Ford is leading the team with a 14.2 scoring average. She scored a season-high 27 points against Texas A&M - Corpus Christi in the first contest between the two teams. Chika Ofoegbu averages 8.7 rebounds the game to pace the team.
