Women's Basketball back at home to host Texas State in Dugan Wellness Center

The Texas A&M - Corpus Christi women's basketball team will be back in action on their home court this Wednesday night when they host Texas State at the Dugan Wellness Center. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. as the two teams meet for the first time this season.

The Islanders are 2-16 on the season and will be looking for their first Southland Conference victory after a 0-5 start. The Bobcats come into the game with a 5-12 record overall and are also winless in league play after starting 0-4.

Texas A&M - Corpus Christi is coming off of a loss against Sam Houston State on the road. Adrienne Scott scored a game-high 19 points, but it was not enough as the Islanders suffered an 83-67 defeat against the Bearkats. Anitra Jeffery also added 15 points and 12 rebounds for the visitors.

Scott is leading the team in scoring at 12.9 points per game while Jessica Jammer is second on the team with a 7.8 per game average. Scott is also leading the team in rebounding at 7.9 per game while Jeffery is second at 7.4 boards a night.

Texas State comes into the game off of a 69-63 loss against UTSA on Saturday. The Bobcats led by as many as 10 points with just over three minutes left in the game, but were unable to hold the lead. They are led in scoring by Diamond Ford who is averaging 12.2 points per game. Anna Brzozowski is second at 7.8 per contest. Chika Ofoegbu is tops in rebounding at 7.9 per night while Brzozowski is also second in that category at 4.8 a contest.

The Bobcats lead the all-time series between the two teams by a 7-5 margin over Texas A&M - Corpus Christi. Last season, the Islanders won both matchups during the year.
