Islanders travel to take on Southland unbeaten Sam Houston State

The Texas A&M - Corpus Christi women's basketball team will travel to Huntsville for a Saturday game against the Sam Houston Bearkats in a Southland Conference battle. The game is scheduled for a 2 p.m. tipoff at Bernard G. Johnson Coliseum.

The Islanders come into the game with a 2-15 record and are now 0-4 in Southland Conference games following another heartbreaker on Wednesday night against UT Arlington.

Scott leads the Islanders in both points and rebounds, averaging 12.4 points and 8.0 rebounds per game this season.

Sam Houston State comes into the matchup with a 10-8 record, including a 4-0 mark in Southland play. Last time out, they took an 82-67 win over Texas State to stay unbeaten in league games. They are led in scoring by Britni Martin at 15.9 points per game while Sequeena Thomas leads the Bearkats with 10.4 rebounds a night.
