Katy - The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's basketball team is set for a rematch with the Northwestern State Lady Demons in the semifinals of the Southland Conference Tournament on Thursday afternoon. Tip-off is set for 12 PM in a game that will decide one-half of the finals matchup.

The Islanders come into the game with a 21-9 record after demolishing the Sam Houston State Bearkats by a 99-79 score in the opening round. The Lady Demons are 15-15 after blowing out the second-seeded Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks by a 96-82 final in round one.

The Islanders used a 59-point second half to win going away against the Bearkats after trailing by a 47-40 margin at the break. There were six different Islanders that scored in double digits, a new school record, while Lauren Smith just missed after scoring nine points.

Jade Davis led the team with 18 points, Adrienne Scott had 17, Deziree Green added 16, Myeisha Myles had 13 while Elisa Beagle and Shaye Montgomery added 12 apiece. Green added 11 rebounds and Beagle had 10 as both earned a double-double in the contest.

In the earlier meeting between the two teams this season, the lead changed hands six times before the Islanders took a commanding 21-point lead in the second half. The Lady Demons would not go away, getting it as close as five points with 53 seconds left in the contest before TAMUCC outscored them 4-0 in the final minute to take a 75-66 final.

Scott and Green led the Islanders with 17 points each in that game while Davis and Montgomery also scored in double figures.

The winner of this game will move on to the Southland Conference Tournament Finals.
